FOOD, FOOD, AND MORE FOOD. This last trip to Toronto is nothing but. I don’t even remember us going to so many varied restaurants before. Crazy stuff.
My fiance is a picky eater when it comes to home-cooked meals. On the plus side, he’s always down when we try new restaurants. 🙂
The food that topped my list was the lunch combo at El Catrin, a Mexican restaurant located at the Distillery District. My meal consisted of two Pollo con Mole tacos and Sopa de Tortilla on the side, and Tacos Dulces for dessert. A few hiccups on the service aside, but my food was really great.
The Fiance liked the simplicity of the Italian pizza at Terroni at Adelaide.
We also had our share of Japanese street food when we attended the Toronto Matsuri Festival at Yonge and Dundas. We wanted to try the infamous Gushi chicken but the lineup was crazy busy. Maybe we’ll visit their permanent stall next time. 🙂
We also went to Prohibition (pub food – beer can chicken is an experience), The Works (I think they have a great selection of gourmet MAN burger – somehow their menu gives that rugged vibe, lol), Nak Won (the jajangmyeon was good but the pork pieces were too small), Real Thailand (yummy chicken rice!), Future Bakery (the strawberry shortcake is great even for the fiance who does not have a sweet tooth), Kyoto House (reasonable AYCE sushi), and Yamamoto Japanese Cuisine (weird service, but the food was good).
Enough blabbing and on to the food!
