Shooting Mobile: Many Fest 2013

Black and White Digital Food People Phone Cam Streets

I totally missed out on Many Fest last year due to various commitments. However, I promised myself that if ever Many Fest is pushing through this year, I will totally go.

And I did go! Winnipeg was blessed with a great weather last Saturday as S and T joined me to check out what this year’s festival has to offer.

I shot mostly with my phone and my F100 (in which the film roll is already at my local lab). Just segue-ing a bit, my boyfriend enjoyed shooting with his iPod on one occasion when he forgot his camera. I think that experience resonated with me. This is the first time I actually looked at my phone-snapped photos on a bigger screen, and I must say, not bad! Not bad at all.

I think this is the first year that they festival hosted a Food Truck Wars. I didn’t see any traces of Tokyo Rabbit, whom some people I know have tried and said the food was pretty good.

Line up was pretty long for majority of them. My friends and I bought at two trucks, and at one point we had to wait for two hours just to get something to eat. PRO-TIP: Go line up before you are hungry. You’re most likely starving by the time you get your meal.

While T and I lined up, S went to the ticket booth to get us some tickets for the beer and wine tasting! The tickets can also be used to get sampler meals at the food trucks, but we opted to use them mostly for the drinks.

It was a good day to drink, LOL. S and I went back before we left for the night to use up the rest of our tickets. The wines were really good! I am particularly fond of the red moscato from Australia. 🙂

We also got the chance to catch Hey Rube playing! The group was awesome! 🙂

Later in the evening, we joined the rest of the crowd dancing. S and I walked across Broadway; seeing both familiar and new faces while we held our lit candles to cap off the night.

My friend also made a clip to showcase the night’s festivities! Check it out. 🙂
